Sunset: 25,000 Feet Over the James River, Virginia
Just got back from San Juan, Puerto Rico. We left Washington on a Friday morning with the outside temperature at 23 degrees F. (-5 C.), turning over the city prior to heading down towards the mouth of the James River in Virginia and our exit from the mainland. Over 1,500 miles later, we land in San Juan with sun, surf and 82 degrees F. (27 C.) We stayed at a good hotel on Isla Verde and spent some time on the beach and some time in the historical section of San Juan. These photos are a sample of the series I’ll be uploading over the next few days.
We’d just crossed the Atlantic northwest-bound from San Juan to Washington Dulles. As sunset comes upon us, we enter the US mainland at the mouth of the James River in Virginia, heading toward Richmond. We left San Juan at 82 degrees F. (27 C.), landing in Washington 4 1/2 hours later in 26 degrees F. (-3 C.).
